Starting Strong (Warriors 128, Thunder 120)

On Monday, fresh off mourning the NFC Championship Game that never really happened, every Bay Area sports fan’s eyes returned to the Warriors–just in time for a pivotal stretch of the season. Just three-and-a-half games separated the No. 3 seed Sacramento Kings (what a phrase) from the No. 11 seed Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday morning. Starting Monday night in OKC, the Warriors are playing seven straight games against the West. Seventeen of eighteen games, split by the All-Star break, are in-conference. It’s encouraging that the Warriors started this strong. A 128-120 road win over the Thunder improved the Dubs to 26-24 and the 5th seed.
